The physical and emotional effects of your childhood have had a hold on you for far too long.
After all you’ve endured in you’re childhood, you’re still here. You’ve made it, but not without a few scars.
ACE survivors are up to 76% more likely to be diagnosed with chronic disease and 4 times as likely to be diagnosed with PTSD in adulthood than people who did not experience childhood adversity.
Maybe your mental health has suffered as a result of your tumultuous past. Maybe it’s a nagging autoimmune disease like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis or perhaps it’s a reproductive-related concern, like PMS, PMDD, PCOS, endometriosis, or infertility. Maybe you’ve been diagnosed with a condition related to your metabolic health like diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or obesity.
Whatever the chronic physical or emotional concern, you now know that your adverse childhood experiences had a part to play in your diagnosis and you’re ready to take back control. You’re ready to regain optimal physical and mental/emotional health so that you can live your healthiest and best life now, in spite of your difficult past.
Key Aspects of the Program:
The ACE-Defying Wellness Program℠ is a 6-month-long online group program that was designed to help people who’ve experienced childhood adversity overcome the health concerns they’re at increased for, including mental health concerns, reproductive disorders, autoimmune disease, and metabolic syndrome-related concerns, so they can live their healthiest and best lives now, in spite of their difficult pasts.
Through both individual appointments and group appointments, this program will help you identify the root cause(s) of your ACE-related health conditions and address them using a holistic, functional medicine approach that seeks to work with your body and not against it. We’ll address the emotional piece as well, including the underlying, limiting, destructive beliefs you’ve developed as a result of your tumultuous past.
The B.A.L.A.N.C.E. Framework™ is an acronym that stands for:
- Biomarker optimization
- Address genetic risk
- Lifestyle adjustments
- Address past trauma
- Normalize and/or optimize hormones
- Correct gut flora abnormalities
- Eliminate or reduce medication
We’ll use Dr. Janelle Louis’ B.A.L.A.N.C.E. Framework™ (described in detail in her book Set On Edge) to help you address the three key categories of changes that childhood adversity induces on our brains and bodies. This includes brain changes, inflammatory changes, and changes to the normal functioning of our stress response. These three types of changes are exactly what increases our risk for mental health concerns, reproductive or hormonal concerns, autoimmune diseases, and metabolic syndrome-related concerns as ACE survivors. Throughout this program, we’ll address these changes while working with your body to support optimal wellness in the areas that are specific to your diagnosed health conditions.
It’s time to defy your predispositions. Your childhood no longer has to define you. Are you ready?
